CILS: Certificato di Italiano come Lingua Straniera (Universitá di Siena)
The CILS certificate is a qualification awarded by the University of Siena which accredits the level of linguistic and communicative competence for Italian as a Foreign Language with an exam that is testing communicative skills.
The CILS certificate covers 6 levels which comply with the 6 different sections established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): Level A1, Level A1, Level ONE – B1, Level TWO – B2, Level THREE – C1 and Level FOUR – C2.
You can obtain the CILS certificate by passing the exam, which consists of five parts and which assesses all language skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking and the analysis of communication structures.
CELI: Certificazione della conoscenza dellItaliano (Universitá per Stranieri di Perugia)
The Certificate of Knowledge of Italian Language (CELI) is a qualification for adults that accredits the capabilities and skills in using the language. It is an official exam, recognised by the Italian Government and the European Council.
The CELI offers exams for adults as well as exams specifically for younger learners. These exams are divided into 6 levels which are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (from A1 to C2) and consist of a written exam, an oral exam and an interview.
The CELI qualifications are useful for those who would like to attend a course at an Italian University or in the job market.
